Does anyone know if one can register to do a single subject via homeschooling from 4th year (ie taking 3 years to LC) while still being registered as doing Transition Year (4th year) in a normal secondary school?

And on a related question how do you register with DES to homeschool anyway ?

You register with the State Examinations Commission to sit an exam in the January of the exam year if you are an external student.

You can't be at school and also have homeschooling provided. Homeschooling (i.e. a visiting teacher assigned to you) is provided by the DES in cases where it's needed - medical issues mainly.

If you just want to study a subject at home yourself, you just tell your Examinations Secretary when they are finalising your school's entries - usually the January or February of the exam year.
