    Hello guys,

Could some of you recommend me a build for 600 euro?

    1. What is your budget? €600

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Games, 3D modelling, photo editing

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? No

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No

    5. Do you need a monitor? No

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? Most likely the upgrade will be DELL U2412M 24". Tell me if there are better alternatives!

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? No

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Not really

    8. How can you pay? Laser / Paypal / Bank Transfer

    9. When are you purchasing? February

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? Don't think I need it.

No need to include SSD, it will be purchased separately (recommendations are welcome though).
500GB hard drive will be enough.

    Thanks guys!

It works out pretty close to the price, It was €600.97 but the shipping pushed it up. The only thing is that the case is out of stock at the moment, however, you did say you weren't ordering until February so it should be back in stock by then (hopefully).

I'm sure that somebody will be able to come up with an alternative to this but this should do for what you're looking for. I would say that if you really want to go into 3D modelling etc. that you should try save a little more. An i7 and/or a higher end GPU would make a huge difference.

Much stronger PC, especially the graphics card. There is no need to be spending 120 on a power supply. Any 80 Plus power supply is good.

    Item|Price
    ZOTAC GeForce GTX 760, 2GB DDR5|€214.28
    Intel Core i5-4570 Box, LGA1150|€168.29
    ASRock H81M-HDS, Sockel 1150, mATX|€42.18
    8GB-Kit Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 MHz CL9|€75.62
    BitFenix Merc Alpha|€33.99
    Super Flower Amazon 80Plus Bronze Netzteil - 450 Watt|€46.03

    Total|€599.38

The only thing that I can see in this that you're missing is fans, at least the cooler max has a PSU, Case and Fans all in one, kinda works out to be worth the 120 in the end.

Its not the greatest power supply and is taking up a lot of the budget. The stock cooler is fine on the I5 as he isn't overclocking and doesn't really need the extra fans. A 760 is much much better than a 7790!

Forget the zotec 760, use the discount site and see if you can get a better one closer to the zotec price.

215 with a much better cooling/quiet solution. For a euro more I think is worth it.

Pfft what does he need one of them thingy bobs for. If you cannot stretch your budget to 650.

Cut the graphics card down to an AMD r9 270 approx 147- 151 euro. Will not cost you that much performance wise.

600 budget is the purpose of this thread ;)

Your third option would be something like the following, unless you are willing to get you hands dirty and do some overclocking you might be as well off with the i5 as per above.

But since you said "Not really" rather than no to the question, I am throwing up the option anyway :p.

    Item|Price
Thermaltake V4 Black Edition ohne Netzteil|€37.72
    ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0, AM3+, ATX|€66.14
    2 x 4GB G.Skill PC3-12800U CL11-11-11-28|€69.74
AMD FX-8320 Prozessor, Boxed, Sockel AM3+|€132.59
    Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - Intel/AMD|€30.68
    WD Blue 1TB 6Gb's|€51.22
XFX PRO550W Core Edition Full Wired Power Supply|€53.43
    MSI R9 270 GAMING 2G, AMD Radeon R9 270, 2GB DDR5|€159.43
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€619.94

The FX 8320 might be a slightly better option for the 3D modelling side of things but it's hard to say as it does depend on how well the software you will be using is multithreaded.

It still may not be a bad option at stock settings, so could forget about OCing it (much), drop the CPU cooler and the board down to this . You could probably still bump it up slightly to FX8350 speeds using the stock cooler anyway.

Thanks :) Thing is that I've never performed overlocking, so I'm just not sure if I'll do it properly.

Its not that hard to get a reasonable OC unless you are really trying to squeeze ever last bit of performance out of it.

Have a quick scan through of these guides I posted in another thread, might help you decide if it is something you'd like to try or not :).

As I was saying the FX8320 would still be a decent option at stock so its not even something you would have to do immediately.

    Well ***** you too .

Gigabyte r9 270 is 147. As of now. Will knock another few off the 619. You will need to recheck build in February anyway. So check back here.

Alright guys, thanks for all your advices.

Looks like I'm getting something like this:

    Item|Price
AMD FX-8320 Prozessor, Boxed, Sockel AM3+|€132,59
    ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0, AM3+, ATX|€58,33
    2 x 4GB G.Skill PC3-12800U CL11-11-11-28|€69.74
BitFenix Shinobi Midi-Tower USB 3.0 black, ohne Netzteil|€54,79
XFX PRO550W Core Edition Full Wired Power Supply|€53,43
    MSI R9 270 GAMING 2G, AMD Radeon R9 270, 2GB DDR5|€159,43
    WD Blue 1TB 6Gb's|€51,22
    Samsung SH-118AB schwarz|€13,03
    Shipping|€18,99
    Total|€619,94

(mh I bet there are easier ways to create these tables...)

Could someone confirm if everything makes sense in this build?

Very nice. So, for some mild OC, I would just need a better cooler, like the one you suggested?
Will this motherboard be ok for it, too? I just wonder why you swapped extreme3 with pro3 when mentioned about OC.

Would work fine, although I'd more often use the Pro3 for a budget FX 6300 build, but for moderate overclocking of an FX8320 (4.2/4.3GHz) I'd prefer to see at least a board with heatsinked VRMs like the extreme 3 and the 212 Hyper Evo. If you were going with the pro3 I wouldn't go to far beyond bumping the FX8320 up to FX8350 clocks preferably using little or no extra voltage (You could probably do this much with the stock cooler but it is not the quietest by all accounts).

If you intended on are shooting for 4.5GHz+ something like the UD3P, which has 8+2 VRM power phases (as opposed to 4+1 on the extreme 3) paired with something like the Macho 120 would be my preferred option.

Alright, I guess this is the beginning of my personal HV adventure!

I put my order last Friday. Even seeing that MSI R9 270 is ready to be dispatched on 02-04, I decided to go for it, presuming that exactly by that date they will receive my bank transfer. They did receive it indeed on the 4th, according to my order history, and after that just nothing! Checked the gpu status, and first it was "delivery planned for 02-06", and now it's "delivery date unknown".
As I have read they are a bit dumb on such situations, i.e. instead of providing the customer the alternative (like XFX one, which is the same price), they will be waiting infinitely until they get the item. I emailed them, put my name into call back service, and called them this morning. "Sure, my colleague is going to call you back in a few minutes, is that ok?". 1 hour has passed so far. I'll be calling again soon!

Called again, and now it was a guy who "talks English a little bit". But actually enough to understand that I'd like to replace the card, and to get this sent as soon as possible! Hope it's sorted now.
