To Change or Not? Hyundai ix35

Just wondering if anyone into cars can give an opinion please. I own a 2010 Hyundaui ix35 with 75,000km. Seriously can't decide whether to change or just keep it. I always changed my car every 3-4 years and just have an idea that it's all a bit ridiculous and that there's a few more trouble free years in this car so changing might be a waste of money. Any opinions welcome!!

If you still like the ix-35 and are happy to drive it for another whole then it would be a waste of money to change it. It's almost always cheapest to keep the car you have specially when it running fine had no problems.

    ^ this

Its rarely (never) financially advantageous to spend extra money on a newer car. The new car is obviously more expensive and will suffer greater depreciation. If your motivation is financial, you should stick with your current car.

I suppose the big dilemma is if it will cost a lot to change in a couple of years as opposed to what I'd usually spend after 3-4 years. I know someone who bought
a new car, drove it for ten years and then bought a new one. I'm wondering whether this is better in the long term? I look after the car, keep it serviced etc

It would be cheaper to keep the car for 10 years. But that maybe a bit extreme you only live once and all that. But no harm to keep the car for another few years and then change it. You will be loosing less each year in depreciation so technically it's costing you less to change the car in a few years time rather than now as you would have had the car longer. If your worried about the expense of buying a new one in a few years no harm opening an account and throwing a few bob in it here and there so then when it comes time to change it will take the sting out of it.

Go for it! The State needs the VRT and someone more needy than you will benefit from your loss.
