I'm Republican (and make no apologies for it) but I think the Kingsmill massacre was one of the worst atrocities during the troubles.

The attack was carried out by the South Armagh Republican Action Force = A group made up of ex PIRA remembers INLA members & independent Republicans.

Is a full inquiry possible tho? There was 100's of witness at Bloody Sunday to testify. There was no witness at Kingsmill.

It was carried out by members of the IRA, if afterwards the army council deemed their actions bad for pr and gave them a new name does not change the fact.

What would be the point of an inquiry? Let the victims of the troubles rip and shield our children from the mess we made, put the inquiry money into educating our kids together and just pretend that sh1t did not go down.

There was IRA men in the group along with independent Republicans. But it was not sanctioned by the IRA Army Council. There were other attacks under the name SARAF long before Kingsmill happened so I don't know how the Army council could have giving them the name right after Kingsmill happened.

There was a long tit for tat going on between Republicans & Loyalists during 75/76, Kingsmill was the last in that long line of tit-for-tat killings

Why didn't you say there were PIRA members involved in your opening post?
Many actions were not "sanctioned" as you put it.
Weasel words as usual from you.

The more I think about it tho it just doesn't add up. Why would the IRA who were in "secret" talks with British agents at the time risk the talks breaking down by carrying out such brutal cold action? Just doesn't make sense.

The journalist Jack Holland, alleged that the group was made up of members of the INLA. Which I think would make more sense. The INLA's rules about not targeting civilians were alot more relaxed than the IRA's. The INLA were also behind the "Catholic Reaction Force" who if you remember killed 5 protestant while they were praying in hall in the Darkley massacre & also walked into a school & shot a teacher in front of the children he was teaching at the time.

And I'm not trying weasel anything. I'm trying to explore every different avenue & possibility . Which is alot more useful than you running saying "it was the IRA, it was the IRA" Like a hysterical woman.
