Nintendo 3DS screen freeze

Can anyone tell me if there is a fix for a 3ds screen freeze. If I boot up my console without a game attached the screen freezes on the wi app and I cannot access any other app.
If I boot it up with a game attached it asks me to press the "A" button if I want to continue a saved game, when I press the "A" button nothing happens no mater how many times I press it.
I'm afraid it might be a hardware problem but hope that's not the cause. The console is under warranty but I don't want to go down that road as I could be waiting ages to get it back. Any ideas out there.

I've never heard of any errors like that coming up on a 3DS before. Could you take a snap of the error screen?

Hi DamoElDiablo there are no error messages showing on screen, just the normal opening screen of apps but frozen cannot access any other app outside of the one that's highlighted no matter how many time I press the "A" button.

What about when using the D-Pad, analogue nub or touch screen to try to select a different one?
Do any of them do anything?

No nothing happens thats why I think it might be a hardware problem

If you get nothing from any of the directional inputs OR the touch screen, then that's something pretty serious wrong. Was it dropped or damaged in any way? How old is it, is it still in warranty?

No it wasn't let fall, was working okay 10 minutes later when rebooted just froze. This is why I think it might be a hardware problem. It is still under warranty, looks like I will have to send it back and hope I won't be without it for to long

Have you got an SD card in the console with 3ds apps and save files on it? A corrupted SD card could cause those symptoms.
