Instead of bringing up old threads, I have created a separate thread for you.

I know claremorris motor auctions regularly had eircom and esb vans so I'd say your best bet is to start ringing around some auctions, even if they don't deal with them themselves they probably could tell you where to go.

Those post vans are completely wrecked, all the stop start driving, and hitting them on stuff

Merlin car auctions used to sell them, I think its wilsons these days.

My advice is steer clear unless you want one as a parts vehicle, most are trashed

most of the ex leaseplan an post vans are serviced on time every time, anything goes wrong in between services is immediately sorted out, they are well maintained same as another company van its the type of driverthat matters

Most of the ones I saw being sold at auctions were either towed in or just described by the auctioneer. They didn't fetch much either. The ones that drove in were generally rough. Same crack with the BT vans, NIW vans, most were rough or needed major problems sorted

Last time I was in Merlin auctions in naas they had nearly 50 of them for sale.

They wont be any use. First and second gear give trouble from all the stopping and starting.

They dont appear to have pricing on the stock lists. Is the pricing published anywhere or do you have to turn up there to have a look?
Never knew that place existed and Ive stayed in the hotel beside it many times

I hear only the worst post vans end up at the auctions and the best ones are already sold off at this stage,
I'm wondering who has these vans before they go to auction , I want to get a decent one so I just want to know if anyone has any idea who has them before auction?

I'm told the vans at the auctions are very rough with dents and scratches so the best ones must be already sold.
Just thinking there must be some decent ones for sale somewhere before auction?
, all post men don't rally them at work.

The aul fella had a 1.5DCi Kangoo a couple of years ago.

Great van. It was fitted with a heavy duty clutch/starter for the stop start work and to be honest, it never gave an ounce of trouble. There wasn't too much marks/scuffs in the back so I think that it didn't see much work to be honest. We bought ours from a dealer who had bought it from an auction place; can't remember which one it was. He only sold it as it wasn't great pulling a double axle trailer with a load.

I drive past the current crop of "done-with" caddys and kangoos every day. Don't look rough to me, actually mostly pretty mint. All 08/09 I think. Don't look cheap either though..

They are actually serviced a lot more frequently than the manufacturers service schedule. Things like brake pads and discs are replaced at set intervals regardless of wear.

All in all they are well used vans but very well maintained.

Had a 07 berlingo. They feel like double the milage. You'll slowly work your way through all the bearings and bushes. Discs etc. And ****ed seats
