Best solution to play MKV files?

    Hi all,

    Bought myself a new tv, a samsung F6500, however the smart tv functionality does not support MKV, which rules out a lot of HD content. I also have an apple tv, which puts me off buying a roku or WD TV play for the purpose of playing just MKV files. I have beamer for apple TV but it is quite laggy with large files.

    What would be the best practical solution? To convert the files (which tool on mac?) or buy new hardware? I will be purchasing a blu ray player, might any brands support MKV with 'smart' functionality?
