Can you be denied entry to a club without student I.D

Last thursday i travelled to cork with few lads from college to go out on bodega i think its called. arrived at half 11 fairly sober tbh produced id im 23 and bouncer said no i needed student id there was no sign or anything to confirm this and i wasnt left in after a long trip down to go out there ended up in savoy in the end but regardless id like to know if they can legally decline entry into premises based on lack of student card even though i produced id and was nowhere near drunk enough not to be let in.

Some places have student only nights it's up to them who they let in. If you have an age card look what's written on the back " does not confer on the holder the right of entry to any licences premises"

same thing happened to me at karma niteclub in galway on a thursday nite, i asked why they are only letting in people with student cards and he shouted students only in my face the thick c##t. i was only after heading out and wasnt drinking!!!!
