Tired all the time?

Lately been feeling tired all the time. After maybe 9-10hours sleep I wake in the morning tired, promising myself a day off running. But by the time I'm dressed for work the training bag is packed. Tiredness stays all day at work. The only time i don't feel tired is actually running. Run, Shower, eat and then its a struggle to keep my eyes opened. I'm making a conscious effort to increase red meet intake, eating loads of spinach and taking iron supps. Anyone else feel like this?

keep that promise tomorrow and take a (few) day(s) off running.
If you are still tired in a few days go see a doctor.

I would suspect you may be getting too much sleep. Go to a doctor and get blood tests done though, might not be iron you might be lacking in something else, could be B12.

Not normal. I only sleep a few hours a night and have way more energy than that. Did you get your bloods checked recently? Could be a deficiency of some sort.

How much training have you been doing?

Get your bloods done, too much iron has the same symptoms as too little and is very common in Ireland.

Go to your GP and get some bloods done.
Could be any number of things. Self diagnosis probably isn't helping. See a GP. No medical advice allowed here.

    Could be low iron levels

I have found the exact opposite have gone on a very fruit based diet and upped my water intake to about 4 litres a day and have got a proper sleeping pattern in order 7.5 hours plus and am really feeling the benefits

Even with long busy days in work I am still getting the energy to put in a big effort training that evening.

If you are sleeping 10 hours would you be overdoing it?

Thanks for the comments. I honestly thought everyone in the middle of hard training block feels tired like this. Obviously not. Not looking for medical diagnosis on here but wondering is this normal-or if others feel like this? 9-10hrs sleep is not by choice but physically cannot keep my eyes open.

If you're getting bloods done make sure to ask them to check your thyroid too.

Have a look at the symptoms of overtraining...
