ideas on civil ceremony

    We are haveing a civil ceremony in August, the ceremony lasts only ten minutes but you can add things to it. Does any one have any ideas we could use. Thankyou

    Readings would be the most common. Do you have a poem/extract from a book you like? Would have to be non religious. Sand or candle ceremonies are popular too, maybe someone to sing a song you like in between the more formal bits.

    Thankyou for the ideas we were thinking about lighting a candle with are two boys to involve them, whats the hand fastening and sand? Unfortunately we have no one who could sing for us . The farther of the bride wont even say a speech

    We had our ceremony in November just passed. We had 3 poems, and a couple of songs, along with the candle ceremonies. I loved the idea of a civil ceremony as it is so personal and we used poems and songs that had special meaning for us. Sp glad we went down that route.
