    i have a308 hdi
    not sure of the name of the part,but its like a heat shield/guard it came loose about six months ago the bolts just sheared off, so i put a steel strap on to hold it, now thats snapped too
    can i get this in a motor factors or would i have to go to a main dealer ?
    i only need the top section
    sorry for the vague description i am not mechanically minded

    The exhaust heatshield underneath the car is loose? The part isn't very expensive and even at a dealer you shouldn't get robbed.

    its in the engine bay, covering pulleys ect, between the radiator and cylinder block

    Sounds like maybe the exhaust manifold heat shield? Again shouldn't cost too much even from dealers.
    Soak the shafts of the sheared bolts in wd40 and leave to sit for a while before removing with vise grips
