have my Android tv box (4.2) working on wifi, but cannot get it to work on ethernet. The reason is, i can add my home network security password to the wifi settings, but it doesn't give me the option to enter my security password when i want to use the ethernet on the box.

Can someone point me in the right direction please. Thanks.

Try pinging the gateway, use a net ping app

the gateway that's displaying is the routers ip. 192.168.2.1

    That pings grand.

    Ping Google's Dns server, 8.8.8.8

    Ping Google's Dns server, 8.8.8.8

Done that. Sometimes it's perfect, sometimes it loses 2 packets out of 3. Sometimes it won't connect at all and other times the latency is garbage. Way stronger on wifi in terms of ping and speeds

Thinking it's the port, as tried numerous known to be good cables
