job offer?

I had a job interview this week and it went really well. Interviewer said he was very happy with me and we discussed my notice period with current employer and start dates etc etc however, no definite "yes you have the job". He did say if I give you a commitment, you'd give me a commitment.

He told me to go away & think about the job ie pay, the fact I'd have to relocate for it (which I plan on doing) etc and he'd ring on Friday after checking references today. What is the likely hood of a definite concrete offer???? Fingers crossed

thanks. I had an interview 2 weeks ago with another company who checked references but I've since heard nothing.:mad: I got my hopes up for nothing. I really want this job so fingers crossed he doesn't change his mind....

Just an update. I rang, as a courtesy, this evening to check my reference details had been received by interviewer, as I sent them on after the interview, plus I also knew they were not called as my current manager told me.

Anyhow, interviewer said yes I got names & Il be checking them in next few days and I call you. is this a bad sign after saying he'd check them Thur & call me Friday..........
