Just trying to cover odds and ends for upcoming test
Is every time I have to cross a centre line due to parked cars a signal out before I cross the line?
Do I keep signal on till I’ve moved back in?
When doing the round the corner/turnabout can I ask to adjust left hand side mirror? Do I have to stop ask permission to recorrect mirror before taking off after manoeuvre ?

Most times you cross the centre line you should signal, some instructors may say it's not necessary if there's nobody to benefit from it but I think it's a good habit to get into. The only real exception to this is if there is a right turn ahead and the signal could cause confusion. Be careful not to weave in and out of your lane if there are more parked cars ahead, better to stay out unless there is oncoming traffic.
You do not have to keep your signal on, 2 or 3 flashes is enough to signal your intention. Longer than this and people may think you are turning off the road. Also do not signal when moving back in.
You can adjust the left hand mirror before the reverse, some instructors discourage it but it is allowed. You MUST return it to correct position before moving off, this is often forgotten and the main reason why some instructor's discourage it

ARCD has most thing well answered. The only thing I would add is that it can o$ten be excessive to signal past parked cars in housing estates.

    Thanks for the replies.
I've another question - my ADI told me I need to indicate when taking off from designated parking space at the test centre. I visited Mallow test centre today and nobody seemed to indicate when taking off. You drive straight from the parking bay onto the path out of the centre. Also what about the over the shoulder blind spot look when taking off when all that is behind me is a hedge when taking off?

    Another question.
There is a one exit mini roundabout at the bottom of the main street in Mallow. You drive straight through it and yield to traffic on the right. Do I have indicate as I approach even if it has a single straight through exit?

For this one the good folks at boards tell me that it is better to indicate left as you approach the mini-roundabout... here is the thread I started couple of weeks ago on it :P http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057123050

Always indicate out of the parking spot and always check your blind spots no matter what's behind you. You're demonstrating that you know the taking off procedures for times when you won't be backed up to an object.

    Hi,

Why do you mention the center line ? Do you think you do not have to indicate if you do not cross it. ?

If you are going to move out to avoid an obstruction:-

You indicate, (after obs checks) when you reach the position that will give you a clear and safe distance to pass the obstruction, you then cancel the indicator.

You do the above irrespective whither you cross the line or whither there is a right turn up ahead.

Just suppose there is a motor-bike which in your opinion is a safe distance behind, as there is a right turn up ahead you do not indicate. Unfortunately you misscalculated its speed, or he accelerated madly, whichever, you move out and he gets knocked off. You stop, run back ask him how he is, he says think my leg is broken, you say sorry but you could not indicate as there was a turn up ahead so it would have confused him. He says I quite understand, would much rather lie here with a broken leg than to be confused.

    Simply follow the ROTR,
What to do if you need to change your position

If you are overtaking, turning right or passing pedestrians, cyclists, horse riders or other road users or parked vehicles, make sure it is safe to do so.
Always check in your mirror for any vehicles coming up on your right or overtaking from behind, and don't forget to check your blind spots.
Give a clear signal to warn traffic in good time of your intentions and proceed.

Note. it does not mention white lines or right turns up ahead
