I wish to cancel online dating membership. I signed up on 10/01/2014.

There really is nothing on it for me. I didn't organise any dates / go on any dates.

Payment plan is €28 for 3 months and that means 6 months membership.

Would I be inside the "cooling off" period. I have read Terms and condition and it states that I cannot cancel until all monies are received ?

    Any Help apprecited

    Thanks

If any cooling off period existed it was likely 7 days unless the T&C stated longer,

You need to read the T&C's to know where you stand, btw did they offer a trial membership?

    Thanks for reply Cabaal

    Hi again, response below

Thank you for contacting ***** about your subscription.

We understand that you would like to cancel any further scheduled payments made from your PayPal account to your match.com account.

Regarding your subscription, we are sorry to inform you that we are unable to cancel your next payment because you have selected the instalment plan. You originally opted for this subscription package on 10/01/2014, and would have received an email to confirm this.

The instalment plan splits the cost of the 6 month subscription into 3 equal parts, allowing you to spread the cost. When you opt for this package we process the first instalment immediately and you agree that, to complete your purchase, we will charge you for two further instalments at the end of the first and second months of your 6 month subscription.

As we can see from your account, you have 2 outstanding instalments to pay.

Please note that we have now cancelled the automatic renewal of your subscription so you will not be charged again once your outstanding instalments have been paid off.

Your current subscription will remain active until 09/07/2014.

Alternatively if you would like to make any remaining payments early, our Customer Care team are available to help on 020 305 96 492. Lines are open from 9am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday. Calls from a BT landline are normally charged at 10p per minute. Calls from mobile phones will vary.

We thank you for your understanding and please do not hesitate to let us know if there is anything further we can help you with. For answers to the most common questions click ‘Help’, available from the footer of any page.

    Best regards,

So it looks like I'll have to shut up and pay. My own fault. Thanks again

I don't know anything these dating sites so apologies if this is a stupid question but can you not enter the site as a 'guest' and have a look around so to speak to see if it's what you're looking for.
If you joined up genuinely not knowing what you were letting yourself in for through lack of information from the site, then I don't think I'd be paying them. What are they going to do, sue you for €56.

    Thanks emeldc,

A friend recommended this site, he is a few years younger and found it good. He advised against the free sites as you can get a lot more misrepresentation. But there is really nothing on this site for me - at all !!! Its not the end of the world, so will just suck it up and put it down to ecperience ( should have more sense by now anyhow - wrong side of 45 !!! ) lol

    Cheers

There was a lad who appealed his subscription to Elite Singles on here last week, and won/got a refund. He'd subscribed for a year and had the full payment come out.

You can view and manage all your subscription payments on the paypal website. Log in and go Profile>My Money> My Pre Approved Payments

OK success - Took a good few emails but its sorted. I deleted my account and they have agreed not to charge me the rest of my subscription fees. I never looked for the initial €28 euro back and can live with that.

Thanks everyone for all your help and suggestions and the good laughs too !!
