Vodafone Low Data Usage

    HI

    this is a post ive asked Vodafone directly on boards.ie but id just like to share it with as it would qualify as a rip off.

    HI

    Can you please explain why I pay €65 a month and only get 2gb of data?

    My firend is on o2 pre pay only has to top up by 20 a month gets free texts, some free calls and 7.5gb a month as standard. He is not getting any special loyalty bonus.

    On three regardless of what tariff your on with post pay its 15gb. They also offering free 4g for 6 months which I can pretty much guarantee you wont offer, (sorry for being negitive but I doubt im wrong). So if your on a 30e tariff with three you get 7.5 times as much data.

    To get an extra gig or two Vodafone are looking for an extra 20.

    Also you are Marketing Spotify on your mobile but how can I stream out of the house every day and also use my data for the other apps I have on an extra 500mb a month (500mb, you would go threw that in a day of two) Towards to end of each month i have to limit my data usage which i should not have to do on such a high tariff. How is this Value for money?

    For a post pay customer on your second highest tariff to only get 2gb of data a month in this day and age where data is Key, how can you justify this?

    Regards
    Taylor

    Three.ie prepay will give you "unlimited" data and some sort of deal on calls and txts

    unlimited = afaik no hassle unless you are doing so much it is causing issues for others on the same tower.

    Perhaps you got an iPhone or Samsung Galaxy S4 and are just paying off the subsidised cost in the monthly contract.

    Buy the phone outright and shop around for the cheapest option.

    65 euro a month is mental money to be paying on a phone contract.

    They'll give you unlimited data because the download speed is so slow, you'll be doing well to download 1 Mb an hour.

    So far today, my average download speed, with THREE, is less than 10 kBs with an occasional "peak" at 30kBs.

    I'm just trying to find on boards where their reps reply to queries / complaints.

    Just waited 25 secs to get back to this post to correct a spelling mistake, immediately after the post came on screen.

    I'm on tesco mobile (uses the O2 netwrok) sim only plan (12 month contract). Monthly allowance is 10,000 any network minutes, 10,000 any network texts and 15gb. It's only 30 euro a month so it's worth a look I reckon....

    Vodafone = NO!
    02= Maybe....
    Meteor= Not on billpay
    Three = if your in a 4g area, defiantly, or in a good 3g area. Otherwise its cheap but slow in areas.

    Really depends where you are. My Internet with Three (not 4g), on my payg phone is really fast.

    I assume the response will be "please refer to the T&Cs /Tariff on the contract YOU signed when getting your phone"

    I bought a pair of runners a month ago for €100 in Lifestyle, yesterday I saw a nicer pair in Elverys for €60, should I write to Lifestyle asking them why they charge more?

    OP the deal is a bad one for you. But nowadays it is very easy to check packages on line before you buy, do you not think you are responsible for your decision to buy that particular phone package? The vendor just sold you a product as advertised, why would they need to "justify this"? , the info was out there for all to see, and reject. Caveat emptor.

    In that case, they should not be charging full price for a service which I am not receiving.

    If you do not like it, go to vodafone. They have double the price for half the data. Vodafone and three are the same in my area.

    Speaking of low data allowances, look at low data coverage in co.clare!

    I am with Vodafone for the past two years and must say I feel scammed by their internet packages ( I am prepay) , even their credit. I payed 4 euro for their IOU service and went on the internet for no joke.. 10 mins and next thing I know that 4 euro is just gone! They are meant to have a deal which is 1 euro per day.

    I am considering other networks as I am starting to feel robbed.

    02, Meteor and three all have 7.5gb plus (Unlimited on three), You will not be disappointed

    The package in the OP sounds like one of the ones you get to subsidise an iPhone realistically. Horrendous monthly fee and limited services to allow the phone to be given away "free" or "€99". Cheaper to buy the phone and get a SIM only plan pretty much always now.

    would love to know why the discrepancies between what we pay and what uk customers across all networks is so vast.

    Well one thing that is illogical is comparing the english and irish market, the amount of people using a mast is far greater than Ireland.

    If it costs 50% more to build a network in the uk but the population is 10x, than you can lower charges significantly.

    After reading this thread I can't wait to leave Vodafone! I pay 43 a month plus vat for 100 mins, 1gb, unlimited texts &!vodafone calls. Out of bundle calls are quite high.

    Tesco in particular sounds great!

    I get easily over 50Mb in a 4G area with Vodafone, their speeds are seriously fast compared to 3

    i cant get my head around people signing 14/18 month contracts at 40/50/60 euro per month. I dont care what phone you get, mental stuff.

    Because its a different country. There are big differences in price between Germany, The Netherlands and Belgium also.

    A better question is why there is such a big price difference between three and vodafone in ireland.

    Why is there such a big price difference between Vodafone Germany and Vodafone Netherlands ... or T-Mobile Germany and T-Mobile Netherlands ?

    Or KPN Netherlands and BASE in Belgium and E-Plus Germany (All the same company)

    Because they are all different markets.

    I was talking about ireland only.
    Please re-read my post.

    I agree with you about the different market thing, I even posted about that earlier.
