I am looking to change my set back seatpost with a Inline Seatpost on my road bike, KTM Strada 4000. Its 27.2 X 300mm.
I have been looking around for a while, But still wondering which to go for and if i should go Alu or Carbon.

    Thompson Inline
    3T Ionic
    3T Doric
    Syntace P6

    Any suggestions or opinions.

Carbon. I'm not sure if your bike is carbon or aluminium but a carbon post will dampen road buzz on an aluminium framed bike and will increase comfort further on a carbon bike.

As for which one, does it really matter? It all comes down to looks and price as they all do the same job and the weight differences between any of them will be negligible.

The frame is carbon, i suppose what i am looking for is peoples opinions on the build quality and how they find the saddle clamping system.

The P6 is well engineered. Was a major step up for me from a POS Kalloy one I had. If I remember correctly, there're available several varieties (alu, carbon, hybrid?) and inline/setback is just a matter of how you clamp it. Didn't bother with a carbon one as bikes aren't carbon and I wanted it in a longer length.
