01 Bora boot problems

    Have a 2001 Volkswagen Bora. Since this morning I am having problems with the boot. I opened it first thing this morning, closed it then realised I need to get back at the boot. When I went to open it, it wouldn't open. Central looking was opened but boot wouldn't open. Earlier tonight I tried opening it and it was jammed still. I pressed hard on the boot while pressing the button and it opened. Then I tried to open without pressing and was back to the original problem.

    I have been doing some research about this and seems to be alot of problems with these cars. Just there I was out trying different things and realised boot does not lock at all. Apparently there is three settings on the boot. And it should lock with two settings if car is locked by central locking. I've noticed that the boot will still open when pressed on in all situations.

    Would anyone know What is the exact cause of this and What do I do to fix it? Any help will be greatly appreciated

    I'm not sure about the Bora but on most boots when open on the lock panel you can see rubber bump stops which are adjustable, open it again and try turn them clockwise which might help. And of course dont forget wd40 around the lock and latch assembly.

    could also be the lock actuator.
