When do people reply? I've only got a few replies and i'm very impatient (in an excited way). Still a good few weeks to go so just wondering if its normal for them to just come in dribs and drabs or will I be swamped at a certain week before the RSVP

    Warning: possibly a pointless question

We had to chase up particularly extended family members. They did not reply because as they said "sure you know we were coming".

well when did you ask them to reply by? If they still have few days it would be rude to badgering them. If they're overdue then you've every right to chase up the stragglers.
From our planning and our friends' there's usually a good few that might be a couple of days late RSVP'ing. People forget the RSVP date, which is why we set it a couple of days earlier than needed to give us time to chase them up after they're maybe 5 days late.

100 invites. 80 will come back in plenty of time

The rest will break down into
"Sure you knew we'd be coming"
"I told yer mam we were going"
"Im not around that weekend, thought I told ya"
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that, when is it again?"

all of which means either their scatty, or your wedding is not as important to them as it is to you mainly through apathy/lack of respect on their part.

expect it so you wont be put out or annoyed when you encounter it.

There are weeks left before the deadline. Only sent them a week ago. The reason i asked is because I'm checking the post everyday with excitement. Its even got to the stage when I ring home they just say "nothing came". So I was just wondering if the bulk of people reply half way or leave it to the end.

Told you it was pointless :) i'm just over excited now that the big day is approaching.

I've already got vague rsvp's through our parents and replies over the phone

I think I just want something to arrive through the door

    I'm a loser!

I'd say my family hope the same haha. Ah i'm sure its just the novelty of getting the first few replies and it will wear off then.
