TomTom have an app that tells you when speed cameras are about. It fists €1.79 a month.

Anyone use it and know what it's like?

If it's anything like the garmin download (cyclops) for their Sat navs, I'd avoid it.

The garmin just alerts you when you get close to the limit in a speed zone.
It alerts when you are within 10km of the limit, so if you are traveling at 90km in a 100 zone, but your speed drops to 89, then back to 90, you get an alert.
This can happen multiple times in heavy traffic and is incredibly annoying.

Those type of apps can be got free for smart phones . Just search the android store or the Apple store.

The best thing is to see if tomtom do a 7 or 30day free trial, and see how much it annoys you

I actually wrote my own for iPhone. They basically just alert you when you are a set distance from a known speed camera location. The problem is, they are usually aggregated databases, so if someone saw a Garda there 5 years ago, its still there today. Very annoying. My one just alerts me for entering and when in GoSafe zones, nothing more, as I don't trust anyone to correctly report a speed trap.

Trapster is a very good App but no one in Ireland use it and even less use it correctly.
