Glycine Combat Sub

Just looking for peoples thoughts on the Glycine Combat Sub.

    Some background

It all started when I seen a beautiful (to me at least) rolex with a pepsi bezel. Sadly I don't have the funds for one, nor could I justify it even if I did have that much disposable to buy a watch so I started looking around for something like it.

Naturally I stumbled upon steinhart and I really like the look of their GMT ocean one blue/red diver but its so close in appearance to a rolex that I thought I would like something that is more its own watch if you know what I mean

After a bit of a search I came across the Glycine combat sub (within the approx 800e budget I set myself) and I quite like a lot of things about it except maybe the colour schemes its offered in

    So my questions,

    1) what do people on here think of the glycine combat sub?

    2) Are there any other alternatives in that style around that budget (with a date window) I should consider?, secondhand or used ok- I'm going to exclude some options at this point - Seiko divers - have a modded skx007 and new monster on order so have enough of those for the moment, don't really like the christopher ward trident and not really interested in marathon. + would love a ceramic bezel!

    3) Which of the three colour options below I was thinking of getting would tick the boxes for you (for whatever reason - ease of flipping later, look, unique or because it resembles a homage) - the second one has a deep blue dial and an orange bezel which supposedly is quite nice but tbh they are not two colours I would immediately put together on a watch

1,3,2 would probably be my order of preference, based purely on looks. The first one reminds me of a Breitling SuperOcean (but with nicer numbers). The 3rd one reminds of a Rolex Hulk. You don't seem to see many divers in that colour, which would be a plus for me. I think I'd need to see the 2nd in real life to be convinced of the colours.

Can't think of any particular models, but there might be something by Oris or Helson? You could check out timefactors.com too.

op, I don't know where you've been looking at the glycine, but check out klepsoo.com for them-there was a thread on watchuseek about their keen prices.

Some for 500eur, others less (depending on colour/strap)

A little more expensive here, €560 on metal, but these guys are authorised dealers so you get a full manufacturers warranty

Edit: They'll also knock a few quid off that for being an internet sale when you send them a message.

Yeah, I would also consider a 2nd hand, I have seen a number of these for sale looking pretty minty over the last year, most recent was up for £300, albeit missing B&P.
    I prefer 1st one.
