Have its predecessors, 2 Brnos' and after all these years still very accurate and reliable. Any one I know who has a CZ .22 is extremely happy with it, great gun.

Just be careful as the Lux has a low stock for the iron sights that come on it. Your cheek will be low when a scope is used. Great rifle by the way.

Personaly id go 17hmr rather than 22..far supperior round for all the above targets..fox shooting with 22 is very limited..

As ruger says, 22LR isn't really recommended for fox, but grand for the rest.

The 452 is a staple and for good reason - very good rifles.

well lads what would the bullet prices for a .17hmr be like compared to a .22lr or .22magnum ??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,576 ✭✭✭garv123

similar to the magnum, between 14-18 depending on brand and dealer.

The magnum is on the way up a lot over the years since its becoming more rare and sits on the shelves longer, I think here its heading in the same direction as the hornet, .22-250 and swift.

I have one of these rifles in .22lr. I love it. Very accurate. I have considered changing it for .17hmr a number of times but one of the reasons I have kept it is that you can shoot sub sonic rounds with a moderator and have the closest thing to a silent shot out there. Nobody would even know you were out shooting and I like that as I don't like to draw attention to myself when hunting.
The bullets are also dirt cheap. For 50 eley subs I'm paying €8. Great for plinking

The cz is a great rifle have a cz 452 American myself.

I had a delux but found it a little difficult to find a sight picture with the hog back stock. Not that it affected we much to be honest but I found the straight stock far more comfortable.

No different in accuracy with either rifles. Just a personal preference for me
