one parent tax alowance

    Hey guys just got my 1st wage slip after my tax credit reduction and it wasnt pretty :( does anyone know of anyway to get changed from the mother to the father? she is married to another man i am still single and take my child every weekend.. Is there anyway of getting back the tax credit?

    Its really going to cripple me :( 1ve dropped from an already crappy 1600e after tax to 1450e after tax. :(

    There's a few threads on this already but while it is possible in some cases to get your ex to sign the credit over to you (assuming you qualify as you would as you take him every weekend), because she's now remarried she's not entitled to it either so couldn't transfer it to you even if she agreed to.

    That's the thanks we get from our government for standing by our children. :(

    sp does that mean that neither myself or her can claim the credit?? thats terrible :( i pay 300e a month out of my wage to my ex.. 2nd job going is going on the cards by the looks of things:(

    As I understand it yes.. you're not automatically entitled to it now as your ex is the primary carer, and she won't get it because she's no longer a single parent and thus can't sign it over to you even if she agreed to.
