VRT on classics?

    Hi, are classic are cars exempt from VRT if they reach a certain age eg :- pre 1980?

    Cant seem to find this anywhere :):confused:

    Remember for VRT it's 30 years from date of first registration...

    So if you bring in a 1984 car to pay VRT today, and it's date of first registration is 23 January 1984, you won't be charged the €200 flat rate and will have to pay the full 30% etc.
