ACCA F2 & F3 Exams

Hi guys. Just a quick question about the F2 & F3 exams and material. I had planned to sit the F3 exam in December but some cicrumstances caused me to put the date back. As its now Jan' and I am in the next period I want to get it done ASAP. I know I can sit the CBE exam any time so I am aiming for maybe next Friday. Does anyone think the course material will have changed much already? As I am a few weeks over?

I guess my next question is similar for F2. I bought the two text books together but as Im new to ACCA and doing this tru homestudy I said I would do one at a time. Will my F2 course material have changed much by June 2014? As im using the 2013 book. From what I can this is the foundation part and some rules in accouting are universal but the exams are expensive too and I really dont want to repeat.

Apparently the exam formats are changing in 2014 and its not all multiples coice questioning.

Exam style: I think if you sit either F2/F3 by CBE before 26th Feb 2014 new format rules wont apply, but after this the question form changes slightly so any practice exam materials from 2013 may not be as relevant (http://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/acca-qual-student-journey/exams/computer-based-exams/exam-format.html)

Syllabus Content: I believe F2 has no content change even from 26th Feb 2014 onwards, only a format of exam change, so the content of 2013 books should still be correct, however, there do appear to be some updates to the F3 syllabus if you are sitting the exam on or after 26th Feb - http://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/acca-qual-student-journey/qual-resource/acca-qualification/f3/syllabus-study-guide.html

ACCA have provided some links to specimen exams formats in new and old style on their website, but, based on my understanding of the change it would be best to get both done before the 26th of February, and if that's not possible, focus on F3 as that is changing in both content and style.

You should be OK with the material, try and get sample papers if there is a change in format but the content should be more or less the same
