Just a heads up. Not great i know after Xmas would have been better before here's a trick to get next-day delivery for three months from e-retailing giant Amazon. Quite simply, sign up to a free three-month trial of its Amazon Family* service and it gives a three-month Amazon Prime (its free delivery offer - normally costs £49/year) trial as part of it. You'll need to give credit card details, and payment (again at £49 a year) will be taken after the trial. So if you don't want to carry on, put a note in your diary to REMEMBER TO CANCEL before the three months end. Who can get it? While it's designed for those with kids (or grandchildren), anyone can sign up to Amazon Family. Yet you'll only get the Amazon Prime element (free delivery) if you haven't previously had a trial of it. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/family/signup/welcome&tag=moneysavingex-21

Prime is officially only for UK-based customers. It only affects deliveries to the UK so you'll get free 1-day delivery or free 1st class mail (your choice) only when you're ordering to Parcel Motel. They'll probably also offer to send you a free gift (infant's toy) at some stage. Have to attach it to a £25 order or send it to PM to get it delivered free. There's a big thread on HUKD about this from about 6 weeks ago. And you can set your Family/Prime to expire without renewing as soon as you sign up to it to save you having to remember to cancel later.

The OP on hotukdeals only shows how to stop auto renewal of amazon Prime.

You will also need to stop the auto renewal of amazon Family

The top comment undernearh the OP shows you how to do this.

When i tried to stop the auto renewal of amazon Family an amazon page came up with an error,
so i said **** this and i cancelled my membership!

Just remember that theres 2 steps to take to save you getting charged.

In the small print it also says that:

"Subscribe & Save orders are delivered for free in the UK and the Republic of Ireland using standard delivery."

    Parcelmotel isn't needed so.

But there is no need for Amazon Prime for that to work.

Is there any use of having Prime for Irish?

Parcelmotel isn't needed for subscription based orders, no, but that isn't Amazon Prime, it's where you order something that will be automatically reordered and sent periodically throughout the year, a subscription.

I am a prime member and get free shipping to Ireland but only on things that are marked as "eligible for prime" and sometimes these are not at the best price.

I found that when I had the prime membership that it was actually harder to find the best price items with free shipping.

With prime I wasn't being given the option for super saver delivery, even when orders were over the €25 limit

I got invited to sign up for Prime before, so signed up and then realised it was UK only..

.. sent a quick Live Chat pissing and moaning to customer support that why was I invited to register when I have an Irish billing address.

Got a £5 voucher for my trouble.. all's well that ends well!

    parcelmotel was never needed.
amazon were offering free delivery for years before parcelmotel.

parcelmotel is most useful for websites that delivery to the uk but that wont deliver to ireland
