BTEA Abroad?

I've been looking through CI but have been having a little bit of trouble making it out. I will call someone up if I can't make sense of it, but I thought I would post here to see if anyone already knows of any information.

I'm currently doing a PLC course in Ireland, receiving BTEA of €100

I am interested in moving to Scotland to continue my education, and wanted to know if BTEA in Ireland also covers this. I have just noticed that you will have to have had 12 months in advance, booked your course, so it would seem that I will do the second year of college here before moving there.

Does anyone know anything more about this? Any responses are much appreciated.

I've been posting in here for a few years now. It started with me moaning about waiting 8 months for my first dole to come through, then me moaning about only getting 41 euro when it came through haha. When you live on 41 euro for a few years, you start to think "I shouldnt even be getting this. Why are some people in the same situation getting 100?" haha.

    Thanks guys.

1.8.2 Third level study outside of Ireland

Full-time day undergraduate courses in European Union countries which are recognised for Higher Education Grant purposes may also be considered for the Back to Education Allowance.

Stupid question, but once I complete a 2 year PLC course, does that qualify as undergraduate or post graduate? I'd assume under since it's nothing major but just want to make sure.

Really appreciate your reply man. I'll be talking to the local welfare office about this once the college year is up anyways but want to be a bit prepared and struggled through google searches.

Undergrad is up to and including Level 8 Degree or Diploma, Postgrad is Level 9

Has anyone had any experience with this?

After paying for a deposit in college in Ireland and everything I found out I wasn't entitled to a grant so I can't pay tuition fees. Fees in Scotland get paid for by SAAS but no maintenance. Since I'm already going to qualify for BTEA in Ireland at the full rate (according to Sligo Intreo Office which I'd have been going to), will I be able to get the BTEA if I go to Scotland instead?

I know it's probably a bit late for this but I've been studying in Scotland for the past couple of years while receiving BTEA. You need to return to Ireland and be seeking work during the summer but other than that I've not had any problems receiving it.
