Can you tow a tractor (power steering, and engine running) using a towing bar, with no one in the tractor?

Would the steering turn as the rams on the power steering will need oil pumped in. While the engine running will run the pump will the pushing back on one ram allow oil into the opposite.
I realise now that this may well be what you're asking.

What gearbox and for what distance? Any modern tractor usually has a sticker in the cab with towing instructions as does the manual.

I dont think the sreering would turn on its own . I wouldnt chance it myself for the sake of a few euro to get a lad with a lowloader to move it . Lowloaders are ten a penny now and if its just a local trip they would do it for not much more than the price of diesel if they are passing
