Hi. Hoping someone can assist me with this.

I did examination correcting for the JC Higher English 2013.
I want to claim the tax back now (could come in handy right about now!!)
Just wondering what are the steps to do this?
Think I have to contact SEC to get statement of earnings- is this right?

thanks in advance for any help

They will have sent you a statement of earnings already.

Couple that with your P60 from your teaching job.

Ring/apply to revenue for the money back (if you're due it, that is)

Chances are, if you earn over €32k per year, you won't be due ANY tax back as you'd be paying
    41% PAYE
    7% USC
    Pension Levy - 7%
    PRSI @ 3.5%

To put that in context, I put in a total claim to the SEC for €5k, got €2.4k back.

My fiancee also corrected the JC exams. She's currently unemployed bar the upcoming mock exams corrections. Would she be due tax back too?

It depends on the 2013 tax year.
But if she earned under €32k, and was taxed at 41%, then, potentially, es, she could be due a rebate

    thanks for the replies!

I am a NQT so I have been subbing away since September
I don't have any p60 as I am aware of because I was in college up until May 2013 then just subbing from then onwards.

P60s are usually sent out at the end of January

Yeah she would have earned under 32k. Where's the best place to find out about the rebate, it there anything on the revenue website or is it by phoning them?

You could do it online using ROS when her P60 arrives or else ring them when it arrives.

    Then are usually quite helpful

So she should receive a P60 at the end of January for correcting the JC alone?

No, P60 is from main employer.

I got my statement of earnings from them in Nov.

How do I claim tax back from correcting the exams? That income doesn't show up on my online Paye file. My earnings are low so I am entitled to tax back

Hi all, I think I posted this in the wrong place earlier,
I got my P21 from 2013 and there seems to be no sign of my correction payment on it. I've asked for a P60 from the SEC, does anyone know how I got about checking if I've paid too much tax as it was all 40%. Do I call revenue with the SEC P60 details? Any info appreciated first time correcting. Just want to be certain.
