At a UK motorway service station.

I would assume most of the punters are those who are passengers, or someone changing roles from driver to passenger, or alot of their sales would be soft drinks or meals.

But it still has to be a dodgy combination. I can also see the motorway police nabbing a few convictions from someone who thought they were fine after a single pint.

Not gonna be a worry in Ireland.

    M6 only has 1 rest/fuel stop for 200+km

That's such a stupid idea. They're asking for trouble!!

Great idea, we should implement it here.
Pub grub for lunch (even with a cordial/coffee instead of a few pints!) is always welcome mid journey

You can buy alcohol in German service stations on their autobahns. Have had a beer with lunch many times when I was living over there. Don't recall any major havoc/carnage/mayhem caused by this policy.

To be fair they have a more mature approach to alcohol over there, but in the Uk you'll find a pub within a mile or two of most exits, so I dooubt it's going to encourage people to specifically drive onto a motorway with the intention of buying beer.

    I don't see the problem.

It is possible to sit in a pub without consuming alcohol.

I'm sure the police will keep an eye on the place.

    Free will & all that.

Just about every pub in this country is on a road, many have car parks......yet people are getting in a lather because it's a motorway.
