Some knowledgeable people on batteries here so though i'd just ask this question.

Can anyone recommend a battery pack for jump starting a car, I've hear bad stories about jumping modern cars off another car so was looking for something you could charge off the mains, connect to the dead battery, leave to charge for a few mins then start the car. The AA guy had something like that last time the missus rang them and left it connected to the car battery when starting.

Would be handy to have around.

I use a Halfords Powerpack 200. Decent bit of kit.

Decent one would cost more then a quality battery (or at least a good chunk of one), if your battery is giving trouble you'd be as well to spend the money on a new battery unless you had loads of cars around the house. Makes sense for AA man or someone inn the garage trade or, say, airport carparks to have one though.
    IMO anyway...
