I have a 03 primera, was driving fine, went out to it this morning and won't start, battery is brand new so that's not the problem. About 6 weeks ago it was over heating and the mechanic changed the water pump and removed the thermostat. Just wondering has anyone got any ideas. Thanks

What noises does the car make as you turn the key? Any at all?
If none, it's probably the battery.

    Why was the battery replaced?

Battery replaced due to age. When key is turned it sounds like the car is starting then at the last second everything stops.

I'd be taking a stab at the starter motor.

Could be possible the alternator isn't charging properly.

Check voltage on battery or possible loose connection.

Cold can cause any battery fault to be worse.

Battery in the car was replaced about 6 months ago, I came back from holiday and battery was dead, this time it isn't the battery. Won't push start. Car is Turning but then dies

I had a similar problem before with an almera, sometimes it would turn over, sometimes it would start and sometimes nothing. In the end it turned out to be a problem with the immobiliser.

It sounds very like the fuel pump issue I had in my Ford .

I think a mechanic is your best bet!

Almera's used to have an issue starting with a dodgy camshaft sensor.
