20 ksk and 20 jfk sexed straws ordered! Fingers crossed that I wont be back here tail between my legs in July admitting defeat if they dont hold! I've a decent few PBMs calves already, and a good few more due so might scale back on him, just incase he turns out to be abit of a dud, but plenty others to pick from like Abo, Ygb and Xpd, similar list to Stans!

Theirs a few good pointers in the 2014 progressive catoluge re sexed semen going with a 100 sexed straws here, looking at reasearch on it, the diet of your heifers is absoloutly critical coming up to breeding and the couple of weeks after it along with as little stress as possible being put on the heifers.
Going with a sexed straw into a heifer then throwing her out into a field on a wet day in May wouldnt be the best idea.

    In the pot.

    GMI
    Mau
    Uyc
    OOK sexed.

    To order,
    MWL
    Xdo
    Gzg.

Reliability is important to me , I'm to old to be making mistakes.

My dad usually keeps the maidens inside until may, so as he can spot them easier in heat. My opinion was it was a waste of silage in previous when we were understocked, but things are looking very tight at the minute unless I manage to get more rented land very soon, so might leave them in again.

Bulled the heifers in the shed last year, cost a fortune in feed but all are calving before the 25th of febuary with 70% to 1 st service worked out really well

Keep maidens in here too. Only realistic way we could AI them and synchronization cuts down how long they need inside. With the weather last spring we kept them in until bulled, other years they come in to be bulled and left out a few weeks later. No real difference in conception.

Haven't made any decisions on bulls yet. But my list won't be near as long as some of yours. Usually five or six bulls max.

best of luck with it J. I started diy ai two years and never looked back. Just be patient with it. The best bit of advice I got was, if your not happy with a cow you have done, do her again in the evening or following morning for the sake of €20. as we have a small herd and im trying to raise the yields were using
    xpd, sze ztg.
    in the pot-axn,dgy,abo, rof.

Is he genomic? Pg had a 6 type bull so if its genomic I would take type with a pinch of salt. The ebi is updating its type figures might take a little while to perfect. No problem with proven just be careful with genomic

Eurogene rep was in yard this a.m, where chatting away about bulls and i mentioned how i would love to be able to get my hands on a few spock straws, he then goes that he still has some, happy camper this evening with 40 spock straws in the flask really underrated bull how his ebi is only 118 beats me.

+1 have some cows by him, lovely looking animals but poorish ebi.id also add to that lord Lilly and hairy Breiz .they brought some serious stock, went in calf every year 7 to 9 k Ltrs milk and well over 600 kg solids but again poor ebi.my second highest ebi cow is a screw in my opinion ,poor elder, slow to milk, dodgy feet but Oman ,ruu and gmi bloodlines .itd make u wonder sometimes but al in all ebi is delievering
