Horizon, no HDMI connection at all to a 'dumb' LG TV

I've read through all the threads but have only seen this problem mentioned once. I got Horizon TV just before Christmas and had zero problems. Connected it up to my 'dumb' LG TV, a 32L model and it worked perfectly. Having read all the issues here and elsewhere I was happy.

Then I needed to move the box. So disconnected it. On reconnection there was nothing. No signal at all through the HDMI to the TV. Not even the Horizon menu. Tried everything rebooting, new cables. Adding a splitter. Checked the TV by connecting the PS3 and Blu ray player. Works perfectly.

Eventually dug out the SCART leads and got the TV channels back. When I connected the HDMI cable at the same time. I got 'HDCP TV error' and and an indication that the HDMI was connected but HDCP was not compatible.

Has anyone else come across this? The TV worked fine for a month so you can't argue the TV isn't compatible with HDCP. But the fact that I have no signal whatsoever through the HDMI port implies it's a Horizon box issue. I rang UPC and the rep was very helpful and told me they would send the software update. I now realise that it was for the Smart TV issue and irrelevant to my problem.

Any suggestions? I'm going to call UPC again but would like to able to have an idea what going on. I didn't even know what HDCP was until this. I didn't know you had to know.

The Horizon box may have gotten reset and gone back to Scart as a default. There is a menu setting where you can tell it which video output you want - HDMI or Scart, tweak that and see if it makes any difference.

    Thanks will try it.
Edit: Got into settings - video cable and set HDMI. It made no difference. I rebooted as well. The TV is getting no signal at all via the HDMI cable. Still showing HDCP incompatibility when I check once the SCART lead is back in.

    Any other ideas?

see if any other HDMI devices work, sounds like you've fecked a HDMI port in your move.

    ..or it simply died.

Beginning to think that myself. I didn't damage the HDMI port on the box but thinking now it might have failed somehow. Even though the box recognises it's connected to the TV. The error code is 2040.

After changing the settings around it now won't even allow the SCART to work unless I disconnect the HDMI cable. The only thing I haven't checked is whether a more up to date TV works. This would eliminate the TV as a suspect.

Guess I'll have to get onto UPC again and get someone out.
