Track days - experiences, recommendations?

    Hi all,

    I am thinking about going to a track day. Have been to a couple of them many years ago at a local track in Italy (very small ~1 km lap, national Formula 3 homologation at the time) but, for various reasons, never really went again.

    From what I gather, the only real option in Ireland would be Mondello Park; I guess some of the regulars on this forum might have gone for a spin there a few times. So, I have a few questions:

    - How is the track? I watched a few onboard videos and went to the site, it looks quite good;

    - What kind of people/cars usually turn up for a day at Mondello? I don't mind faster drivers/cars, letting an M5 or an F430 past is natural; having to be on the lookout for 18 y.o. Ken Block wannabes in 1.3 body kitted Subarus would spoil the fun quite a bit;

    - Would they stop the session(s) if it started raining?

    - Would there be any other facilities, maybe in the Cork surroundings, that do car track days?

    Thanks everyone :)
