I am not sure where to post this message so hopefully here is okay, over a year ago I purchased a tv set which has only recently developed a fault, I know it is out of warranty as regards the shop, but I was wondering is it still under manufacturers warranty and how would I find this out

Ignore the warranty; if you bought it in Ireland your consumer rights is what matters which means bringing the issue back to the shop and ask them for a resolution.

Post split out and moved to a new thread.

OP - your consumer rights are stronger than a warranty. You are entitled to expect a product to last a reasonable time without defect (assuming no unreasonable wear and tear or misuse on your part).

I would start by going back to the shop and asking them to help resolve the problem. You are entitled to a refund OR replacement OR repair. I suspect the shop might suggest a repair.
