Anyone tried the new American style diner in the old Texas Centre? Always looks kinda quiet but wouldn't mind checking it out..

I can't see it lasting long. Haven't been in it yet. From there Facebook page it isn't an american running the place but I could be wrong

Save yourself the disappointment, its not great. Very slow to get orders ready and the food isn't anything to write home about. Its basically an ordinary chipper with seating. Nothing more. Food wise, Supermacs and Alfredos taste a lot better.

Cant see it lasting too long, never seems to be anyone in there.

Shame the feedback isn't positive. Hope they can pick things up. Always good to see a new place open. Hope it works for them. Must try it myself.

Its a pretty poor attempt really. Was hoping for a kind of Eddie rockets rip off, but alas had a burger it was ok, A good burger out of bethleem or savios or genoa are far better. Its american, it should be nice and loads of bacon and cheese instead its a dry shrivelled up meatball of a burger. Real Shame, as the town needs a good diner.

Can't find their facebook page, just a 'check in' option etc. What's it under?

Thanks that's it! Don't want to be friends with them though, they should have a page really.

Where do you know it is the same owners

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 219 ✭✭glen25

If you look at the FB page it links to Charcoal Grill on a lot of occasions. Not exactly a scientific way of coming to my conclusion but it looks that way to me...

The charcoal grill is also deceptively 'American'. I thought it would be authentic when I went to eat there but it was more of a chipper. A chipper is fine when you know you are going to a chipper.

I was in Charcoal Grill. They had flyers for American Bites. Asked one of the people who worked there, said its the same owners.
