Ive a problem that i need good advice on please.

I live in an apartment and currently have a sky HD package thats costing me €87 a month and a wireless o2 dongle thing that gives me about 1.5 m speeds at its best with 15GB usage a month. i live in carlow town and this part of town isn't wired for wireless. So i want to find out the best tv-broadband package available? im not bothered with the tele channels because i can stream them. I need faster broadband, theres a eircom phone port in my apartment so that ruled out sky cos eircom wanted €25 a month for line rental so i couldn't afford that on top of sky broadband. Efibre isn't available in my area till april either.

What are my best options for decent broadband??
Am i looking at eircom as my only option?

Thanks for reading my post.. im just not good at the techy stuff.

Line rental is built into sky's pricing.
Can you get UPC? Also look at Vodafone Simply broadband.

Carlow Town has UPC and eFibre, although I've heard there's problems with massive contention with UPC in the town.Vodafone Fibre might be your best bet as you can get it as a standalone product,no line rental charges either.I'm a VF mobile bill customer & signed up for an 18 month contract for €25 a month with unlimited downloads.

    I'm on 50Mb and get consistent speeds wirelessly of about 47Mb down & 15 up,ping is 16m/s.

All depends on how near you are to your cabinet.

Just popped into the vodafone store in carlow and they checked out my availability and i wont even get 1m on the landline.

So my only option is eircom by the looks of it.
