NCT lift and aftermarket sideskirts?

    I have recently bought an audi a4 with an sline body kit on it. During the nct test they put the car up on a ramp to have a look underneath and inspect the wheels. They do this by placing rubber blocks under the sideskirts and lift it up.
    The Sline kit comes with sideskirts which sit much lower than stock ones, and would break if the car was supported by them. Do you reckon that it would be possible for the testers to place the blocks slightly further under the chassis, away from the skirts, or will i have to remove them for the test?
    Does anyone have any experience with this??

    They usually use rubber blocks on the jacking points.

    Ok sweet so i shouldnt have to take them off so, just hope its not too low now!

    I'm a bit confused reading this thread, you mentioned the rubber blocks in your original post, what did colm_mcm add in his post that you weren't already aware of?

    Saw them using those blocks in Deansgrange recently, there's an observation room where you can see the testers in action.

    I Think the OP thought they'd put the blocks under the skirt and lift from there.

    On my previous cars, i watched them lift the car up by placing the rubber blocks under the car side skirts and lifting using the skirts. The A4 has aftermarket sideskirts which are not solid so they would break if the car was lifted using them. My concern was that it was standard practice to lift with the sideskirts and not by anywhere else, so i would have had to remove them.

    The OP didn't know that the blocks are placed on the secure jacking points, and not onto the flimsy plastic skirts.

    That said, if they're too low - it could fail for not being able to do the brake test. Never mind the lift. That would really only happen if it was lowered within an inch of its life, though.

    No it shouldnt be a problem, i can still mount curbs if i go slow

    Happened to my Celica 2 weeks ago, he went fast to that brake test machine and f***d my front bumper!! Was going back to complain and they have Cctv, but they will just tell me that my car its not factory lowered.

    Is ur car on coilovers ?
