Argus Mini IP and not displaying via HDMI to Samsung TV

Hello All,

Wondering if anyone has any experience with this weird issue..

My Samsung LE40A6561F TV (2008) no longer displays HDMI output from my Argus Mini IP set top box on any of the 4 HDMI ports.
This has been working fine until recently.
I have tried 3 different cables. The receiver does work via scart connection to the TV. It also works ok with other TV's over HDMI (tested 2 different models).
Another STB/receiver works ok with the Samsung tv over HDMI! (so which one is to blame!?) and I can hook up laptop/camcorder via HDMI no probs.

I have applied the latest T-AMBPEUMD-1023.0 firmware to the Samsung and also tried a few different Argus Mini firmware versions but still no joy.
Tried messing with the v.format and A/V output in receiver menu.

It's like they've fallen out! :-)
Unsure if related but it happened during Christmas when we had storms/lightening.

If I cant sort it might bite the bullet and get new receiver, Alien2 or similar seem to have come down in price.

Any tips/comments welcome.

Only switch box on after TV is switched on and on correct HDMI input. It sounds like handshaking issue with that one TV.

If problem is still there, flash the latest firmware for the edision Argus Mini IP to the box.

I had a similar problem with my Argus mini but in reverse... no picture on scart.
There is a v-format button somewhere on the remote (can't remember where) but that will cycle the box through the various supported video output formats - try pressing that a few times and you should get a picture when you get to HDMI

Thanks for the replies folks.

I've tried that v.format button on the remote, I can see the box change from 720p to 1080i, 1080p, auto etc but nothing comes through via HDMI to the TV.

Have just tried what you suggested STB re sequence of turning things on, no joy.
I've tried latest official Argus Mini formware, and also one other unofficial one.

Have also gone into the Service Menu on the box by hitting a specific sequence on the TV remote, here I've turned off hotplug and hotplugctr, with no luck. Have also factory reset from in here. I don't want to mess around in here too much however..

It does indeed sound like a HDMI handshake issue between these 2 systems but it's still weird!
It happened when we had those storms, power did flick off/on and tv went off. when the tv it was powered up, it would no longer display hdmi output from the box. It's wreckin me head at this stage :-)
