There is a 50 EUR charge for removing the meter.

Since when? I had a meter removed 2 months ago with no charge.

atWas it prepay power that removed the meter or was it esb networks (or whatever they are called) or your new supplier that came to put in your new meter?

Contact prepay power and they should remove the meter and all other stuff they installed

But if they remove the meter, where will you get a new one, do you still have your esb meter and the PPP one?

They install a device at your Meyer box to record your usage and this is connected to the keypad which is placed in your kitchen/living room, they only remove the items they installed and do not take anything installed by ESB networks.

Ah, I have an esb meter, they took my old meter and replaced it with a new one.

Surely It cant be that easy to just remove the meter, wouldn't the supply still be billed to PPP, as in getting electricity for free. It hardly just reverts to esb who would bill you.

    7. TERM AND TERMINATION

7.1 Your Contract with us remains in place for an initial period of 12 months from the Start Date (the "Initial Term"), unless otherwise terminated in accordance with clause 7.3. If before the end of the Initial Term you wish to terminate your Contract with us, you must provide us with at least 14 days' written notice. In such circumstances, while your Contract with us will, subject to clause 7.4, automatically terminate after such 14 day period, we reserve the right to charge for each unexpired month or part thereof for the remainder of the Initial Term in accordance with the Schedule of Charges.

Continue reading from 7.1 in the terms of conditions, there is more information there.

7.6 If you want to terminate this Contract, but not terminate the supply of electricity to the Premises, you must obtain a 60-digit code from us to put the Budget Controller into credit mode, and grant us safe access to the Premises to enable us to remove the PPP Equipment.

Getting a pre pay power metre removed tomorrow. It was installed by a tenant without my permission. There is a gapping big hole in the side of my esb fuse board box where pre pay power connected their cables for their unit. Are they liable to replace the fuse board box with a new one or will they just leave it? anybody have previous experience with this

Why are people leaving these pre pay electricity suppliers?

Are they not better as they help to manage? Or are they a lot more overpriced?

hi just to update, Pre pay power removed the unit last week and in fairness to them they did actually cover up the hole in the fuse board/box and did quite a good job on it.

    Hi Guys
Any information on how I leave pre pay power?
Only three months into a contract and tbh seem to be topping up every couple of days.
Switched both esb and gas and would like to revert.
    Mistake.

If you are in contract it is unlikely there is a way you can back out until the contract is up. Only way to be sure though is to check your contract/ring them.

Ive never understood why people go with pre-pay, it is typically the most expensive on the market and you have the hassle of topping up.
