    Hi All

    Some advise please..

I am getting Sky Multiscreen installed and Sky are sending out a card to me..

My question is that if I install 2 cables and get a Normal Sky HD box will I be able to pause rewind and record or will the card that sky are sending be matched with the Multiscreen Box ..

    Thanks

You can just ring them and pair the Sky+ box with the multiroom card, in fact you can do it online too.

The card is paired to the box
    One box per card
Without a subscription you can't use any sky+ features

A sky HD box only requires 1 cable... but you should run 2 cables as you will probable upgrade to a sky+ HD box at some stage, then its just a quick call to sky to have them match your card to the new box...

Sorry...but I already have all the sky+ features sky sports HD etc on my other box in the sitting room

..and the card sky are sending is a clone of that with sky+ features activated already... but a sky HD box doesn't have a built-in hard-drive and therefore only requires 1 cable, my suggestion is to run two cable or ask the installer to run two cables... because you will most likely upgrade to sky+ HD

You'll have them on your multiroom too when you pair your card with a new box

Is it a difficult task to pair online.

    Cant be done online...

    SIDE NOTE:
Maybe I'm confused by your wording :)

    A sky HD = No Live pause/rewind
    A sky+ HD = Live pause/rewind

Which box did you order sky to install or are they just sending a card?

Ring them up, it'll take a couple of minutes, they'll go through what you have to do.

Ahhhhh, when the installer is putting in the cables ask him to install 2 cables, purchase a sky+hd box off adverts or the like and ring sky to pair your card to the box.

Thanks a lot. Apologies for confusion again. Sky won't have a problem with pairing a Multiscreen card with a Sky+ HD box will they.

Nope, providing the box isnt stolen or has outstanding payments due as part of the previous owners sub. Some Sky+ HD boxes that are sold privately can be new or used so just be sure of what you're buying and from who.
