Opticians won't tell me my prescrption or give me eye scans

I recently went to an optician and got my eyes scanned with a machine to get pictures of the back of my eyes before my eye exam.

I signed a contract or terms and conditions or something before the test and I asked the gentlemen for a copy of it after I scrutinized it (and signed it). He gladly obliged, as I ALWAYS request a photocopy of things and contracts that I sign.

I have an appointment to see an optometrist because of a medical condition that I have and I also want to order glasses online with the prescription that I got in the eye exam.

I would like to have the scans of my eyes to give the optometrist to show her my eyes, always nice to have a second scan.

I wold also like to order some nice frames which are not available in my chosen opticians.

Now, the manager in said opticians acknowledges that it is possible to just give me the eye scans on a memory stick because it is against company policy and against the t's and c's of the eye exam, same applies with the prescription.

Now, NOWHERE AT ALL on the contract does it say that the scans and diopteres are for the company only, I never signed that.

Surely I am entitled to my information under FOI act??
    Advice?

Your request for your file would come under the Data Protection Acts.

You are fully entitled to a copy of your prescription. As for the copy of your fundus photos I cant see a reason they wouldn't copy them to a memory stick I know we happily oblige to do it if asked
