    I will be permanently relocating from Jersey to near Sheffield in late March for work so will be looking to join a new course over there. We don't know exactly where we'll live just yet as it will be dependant on where wifey gets a job, but there are quite a few good courses in the area and I was wondering whether anyone here has played them.

    The best courses seem to be;
    • The Hallamshire
    • Lindrick
    • Bondhay
    • Notts GC
    Pricing varies but there are openings for members in all. I know from my research that Lindrick might be a bit stuffy as they require a suit jacket/shirt/tie for the main dining area but I'd be willing to check the course out just in case.

    Notts / Hollinwell is by some distance the best of these and one of the very best inland courses in Great Britain or Ireland.

    Lindrick is also absolutely excellent with a good pedigree. Considering it is likely closer to you, it warrants serious thought.

    I know little about the other two which I suspect means there is a good drop in standard.

    Thanks - you're right about Notts as it's more likely we'll be living closer to Sheffield than Nottingham, which may rule it out. I'll make sure to play each course before deciding but thanks for your feedback.
