Have been keeping a general lookout for a cheap DVD player for home for the kids to use that i wouldnt cry over if it broke.

Was in Tesco Bray over the weekend and lo and behold, they had DVD players for a tenner. Remote included, no scart (€1.49 in dealz) works fine.

I remember the first DVD players back in the day being over £300. How times have changed.

Had one a few years ago. Sounds like it could take off any second but did the job. Couldn't expect more for a tenner.

When you say no scart, do you mean no scart cable with it or no scart connection on the device? Also wondering what make is it? Thanks.

    No Scart cable.

Has just a Scart out and an L&R for sound.

No idea on the make, just says Tesco on the box.

    No HDMI port?

For a tenner, I'd doubt it.

Did some ringing around, none left in Bray. None in Dundrum or Nutgrove either.

Thanks anyway OP, wanted it to replace a broken one connected to a crt in the parents place.

Keep an eye out in some of the Tescos as there is a sale on currently, I picked up a Philips Blu-ray player model: BDP2900/05 which can be region unlocked for dvds has usb input so can play movies and music off memory key and hard drive for 20 quid

picked it up today in Waterford, seen the same player in a few different tescos around the city

    hope it helps
