behind the old campus of the college is always good for adding on a few miles. As Ultraman says, the canal is great and you can jump out and go across to Carton House with miles and miles of good running.

    My runs in Maynooth are
    (a) along canal (can go west if want cross country effect or east has more surface).
    (b) If run to Lucan you can come off Canal into St Catherine's Park with plenty of routes.
    (c) Run along Canal to Pike Bridge (abt 3k from train station towards Leixlip) you can come off and go into Carton estate - some very nice trails in there
    (d) One Lap og new college is just short of 1 mile so is useful for 1 mile repeats
    (e) Carton Avenue is just short of 1k and connects the town with the Carton estate
    (f) The old college - a lap is about 2k and mix of grass and tarmac
    (g) there is also Castletown House estate which is also worth a run

    Loads of choice
