Buying from America?

Have got my eye on something from the Longines Master Collection. Haven't narrowed it down to a specific model yet but something like this.

I will be in America for a couple of weeks in March, wondering whether I'm better off picking it up over there? I think something like would cost around €2200 in Dublin, I also saw similar prices in Frankfurt airport a month ago. I will be in Austin, New York and Boston. Flying via Heathrow if buying something there would be a good option? Also would be helpful if anyone has suggestions for good shops in any of those cities.

£1440 on Iconic Watches. I bought my speedy pro from them in December and they were great.

Tempting. That one I linked to is actually probably too big for me. They've got a similar 38.5mm model for around €1650. What are these guys like to deal with? Would be slightly nervous about ordering something online for that kind of money, my previous biggest online purchase was probably €500 or so.

I have only heard good things about them on the watch forums. I was nervous too so I paid by credit card thinking it would give me extra protection incase anything went wrong. The whole transaction went really smoothly though and I'd probably pay by bank transfer if I was buying again to save on the credit card fee. They have a bricks and mortar shop in Lancashire also.
