potassium aluminium sulfate

    I am trying to find somewhere in Ireland that I can buy potassium aluminium sulfate - alum. Is there any particular industry would use it? I need maybe a kilo.

    I have googled it and found wholesalers, tried school supplies but though one place claimed to have it I could not get any further information. Any suggestions? I know there are small amounts on ebay - 250g etc but with postage it works out too expensive.
