Weird radiator bleed valve

    Hi all

I'm hoping someone can help me with a problem. All the radiators in my house are bled with a regular hex key. Except the one in my dining room. This is a double radiator. This has two bleed valves (one for each section) but both have no hex key, Allen key or screwdriver slot. Just a flat area. It looks like someone has broken them? Is there anything that can be done? Do I need to get a new radiator? I've attached a pic of offending item. Many thanks for your thoughts and advice.

    Garret.

Looks like someone has rung the bleed screw off. You could try the following, I have done it before and it works fine.

    1. Turn off water supply to radiator. (both sides)
    2. Drill a small hole down into top of radiator.
    3. Screw a self-tapper screw into hole to seal it.
    4. Turn water supply back on.
    5. Slightly open self-tapper to bleed radiator and tighten to close
    when finished.
