I had to deal with this in the first 406. Dog hair everywhere  Meguairs brush helped a lot, about €14 from hellfrauds

I still ended up taking out the interior and burning it though :(

To get rid of it all I'd say you'll have to inch by inc vacuum with the nozzle and a stiff brush. The hairs seem to work their way into the fabric. Happened me once and got a plastic boot liner Aldi or Lidl much easier to keep clean.

If you have a Euro giant Euro 2 shop near you thay do a pet hair remover of €1 or €2. It has a yellow handle. It's just a straight piece of rubber on the end. Drag it across the carpet and the hair collects in front it.

It's the best thing I've ever used for dog hair. And I've tried lint rollers, tape and various brushes.

There are specific hair removal brushes available. The brissles are rubber and it does a good job of bunching up the hair for easy removal.

Get a box of latex gloves and rub the hairs off the seats etc.

Tried all the removal tools and this is the quickest!

Before you go off buying stuff for this, try a rubber glove - like the marigold type you probably have under the sink.

    @ TestTransmission - just a quick tip btw when doing this;

Use the pet hair brush in conjunction with your hoover. A lot of people will try to brush all the hair out of the mat and then hoover it, but if you use the hoover as you brush you will pick up all the hairs as they become dislodged from the carpet/seats. Run the brush along the seat/carpet with the hoover following closely behind and you should be done in no time at all.

    I definitely wouldn't try it.
It gives most people I know a rash. It's definitely gonna give your dog a rash.
Why don't you take him to a groomer who knows what they are doing?
Groomers are very experienced with every type of dog & know how to get even the most skittish dog to tolerate grooming.

Have you read the thread? He's not going near the dog. He wants to remove the hairs from his car's interior.

Batool100, I fear you have inadvertently strayed from home.

    Otherwise, it's a bloody good wind-up!

You could always get a hold of some upholstery dye that matches your boot and dye his coat.
    Problem solved.

    Or better still.
Keep him out of the car :pac:

What about putting an old sheet in the boot draped over the back seats and floor of the boot.
Should reduce the amount of hair on the boot itself

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,106 ✭✭✭✭TestTransmission

I have a boot liner ready to go in but unfortunately owning a dog who sheds a lot gets transferred to your clothes and then onto the car

There is this stone type product that you can get - its like sandpaper and it picks all the dogs hair up!

I had great success before with an Autoglym drying blade. Pretty much the only use I have for it since I learned of something called 'swirl marks'.
